Please make a nomination for the blog topic or series of the year for Church of Christ bloggers in 2005.
For example:
"Church of Christ bloggers help remove Anne Coulter from Harding University Speakers Seris"
or
"An Emerging Church of Christ" by Wade Hodges
I'll be taking nominations for the next several days and then I will open up the voting. I need to figure out how to do the voting. Keith Brenton or any other genius is welcome to give me a pointer on this one.
So, let the nominations begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

chris,
I don't figure my vote will count since I'm anonymous;but I like the Emerging Church of Christ discussions.
I was a dead man right in the midst of a Church of Christ. I had to remove my own body before it decayed.
Discussions such as this one tend to bring my body back to life. It's comforting to realize that I wasn't the only one who felt some of the things that were discussed.

Nomination: Youth In Action youth rally goes to Hattiesburg, MS for Katrina relief.
All I know is that the funniest post of the year by a LANDSLIDE was your post about having gas in church! :) If I am having a down day, all I have to do is pull that post up.
As far as blog topic.....that is a good question. I really enjoyed your posts and Wade's posts about "emerging" churches.
Harding was in a LOT of blogs this year. I don't know if that is good or bad.
I am looking forward to the blogging world of 2006!
God bless,
DU
After all, David ... God created methane.
I'm thinking about that voting thing. I think you'd have to tally up the votes for each nominee and then declare the winner based on the number of votes it receives ... preferably, the most votes. I'm not real clear on that. After all, I grew up in a Republican state.
Collecting the votes? That's tricky. I'll have to think some more about that.
i don't think i can vote b/c i'm really just getting edjubacated :) on these subjects from your blog. i have no idea (except from your blog) what church of christ is or what emerging church is.
I nominate Adam Ellis' The Influence of Creation and Eschatology on Worldview and Mission.
It's some pretty heavy reading, but the conclusions he reaches are really good ones.
New nomination:
Bloggers wrestle with "Christian Affirmation"
I nominate Phil Wilson's post on "The Poetry Of The Trinity"
Chris,
Bobby Cohoon's "The Little Box" should be nominated. He hits on the real meaning of Christmas.

How does anyone vote for these?
Chris-
I second your nomination for the Christian Affirmation thing - probably if you are looking for a CoC emphasis on the "award", then this has got to be the event of the year. It goes to the heart of the interaction between mainline CoC and the emergent conversation.
This isn't for nomination but maybe all of us should read and meditate upon this important blog post (the whole post, especially the bottom part):

*Sorry, I had to break it up since it cannot be read in one continuous line on the comment. If you have trouble, it is a Dec 30 post.
It hits home to say the least.
Chan,
Is that a nomination for blog topic of the year?
Series of the Year: John Alan Turner's series on David, that started on July 5th. Awesome stuff. (http://johnalanturner.blogspot.com)
Second nomination for series of the year: Tommy Stewart's painful but liberating series on his life as a child that began on July 21st. (http://thomasstewart.blogspot.com)
I sort of dig a blog by an Episcopol dude.
Isn't voting for a c of c blog sort of like, ugh, ugh, being the only ones?
Brother JOhn Dobbs' blog starting in august tells of his, andhis churches ordeal after hurricane Katrina.
I believe the series is the best of the year.
it is at http://remains.blogspot.com
