Always Afraid

Some people have lived every single day of their lives in fear. They were afraid of their parents, afraid of becoming parents, afraid of failure, afraid of authority, afraid of intimacy, afraid of life, afraid of death.

Fear beats the life expectancy right out of a person.

When you can relieve a person of fear, even a little, you have loved that person.

I understand your point. However, for some people, fear is the only way in which they can cope with their circumstances or even know that they are alive. It's the fear of feeling anything at all that keeps them seperated from everyone. Most people even reject those who are in these circumstances because of their own fear and thus the status quo is perpetuated.

The more fear I feel, the less I experience of love. Love and fear do not co-exist. They can be near each other, but not in the same place at the same time.

When people feel loved (not just think they are loved or even know it in their head, but deeply believe it) they are not afraid, not even afraid of death.

Perfect love drives fear away because fear cannot tolerate love.

More than anything, I want to be loved. I can't get enough of it. Not in an addiction kind of way, but more so like I always the temperature to be 75 degrees.

May we all receive, create and give more and more and more love. We must or fear will run amuck.

That's out of my realm of reality.
Fear = Anger
Anger = Survival

I've been wrestling with this question for several weeks. Gave a talk at church about the attachment piece, but left out the holiness piece. Today, I had another revelation: God requires that we die to our "selves." In order to die to our selves, we need to first be rooted in his love. More thoughts on that to chew over lunch if you're free...
