Fearswamp

Tripped into a murky mess
Brought down, face down
Nearly drown;
Sinking in the Swamp.

Inhaling the sludge of Fear
Coughing, choking, heaving Fear.

Push, push up;
Elbows, now hands,
Knees, now feet;

The courage to stand,
And not bow,
In Fearswamp,
Is the difference.
