I want you to know I will be in prayer ...MaryAnne,

I want you to know I will be in prayer for you and your church family. I pray that the Spirit will bring peace where people have brought struggle. There's just no such thing as a good split, is there...too much pain. Sometimes people are dissatisfied and disgruntled for what are truly valid reasons; but a split, by nature, does not heal wounds and bring unity. That's the job of the Holy Spirit.

Grieving for you and praying for peace,
JamesJBloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06033956433046932872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7439195.post-1107253912733728572005-02-01T04:31:00.000-06:002005-02-01T04:31:00.000-06:00thank you...yes, it is a long standing unhealth an...thank you...yes, it is a long standing unhealth and weakness. there have been many prophetic words over the 5 years we have been there. there have been lots of people that have left...this is the first group to stand together and demand the truth and an investigation.
To want to go deeper should not be wrong. To want to do more outreach should not be wrong. To want to press in...
and the answer that everyone gives is: go where? THIS is the "family" that I have loved and lived with for this many years!! (some of these people have seen this go on for 20 years!)
one of the words we recently got was "God was going to replace the foundation and rebuild it". Pastor explained to us that God really doesnt do that..he might sandpaper or remodel but He wouldnt tear down a foundation. Months later, we are looking at the whole foundation being removed...but feel strongly that it isnt us doing it.
thanks for your prayers.MaryAnn Measehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11091804928724972367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7439195.post-1107235038548061132005-01-31T23:17:00.000-06:002005-01-31T23:17:00.000-06:00When I hear about splits and potential splits and ...When I hear about splits and potential splits and what not, the bruised part of my heart aches. May God guide your fellowship.

Why ever does a desire for deeper spirituality have to be a threat, I wonder? Maybe a church plant can be salvaged from the tension. Maybe God is refining the church. Maybe God is testing the leadership. Maybe God is exposing a long stnading but rigidly tolerated unhealth in the church. I don't know. "Feed my sheep," I think Jesus told Peter.

You've got my prayer tonight.Fajitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704189756009543355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7439195.post-1107230149532587012005-01-31T21:55:00.000-06:002005-01-31T21:55:00.000-06:00i hate using the term disgruntled members causing ...i hate using the term disgruntled members causing a split....of course, i am in the midst of one now possibly. its not pretty...and no one really wants a SPLIT...
there is a (rather large)group of people who have all felt "starved" and "controlled" in this church.(for years! lots have just left)..so we all have done something or suggested some ways to make it better. for a while it kinda worked.
Recently, when we met with leadership and asked for MORE...that we were seeking MORE of God, sacrificial prayer, deeper teachings, etc....we were told it was a bad idea. I've really enjoyed this series on Post Re...Chris,

I've really enjoyed this series on Post Restoration Hope. As a church planter, I appreciated today's post. In many ways, the RM as a whole began the way many mega churches do now. Groups of disgruntled and dissatisfied people seeking a new start. Finding your beginnings in dissatisfaction and--what's the word, "disgruntification"--is a mixed bag of good and bad. The good news to me is that most of the church planting I see today (at least in our neck of the woods), is rooted in a deep desire to extend God's grace and the borders of His kingdom.

Keep up the good work!JBloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06033956433046932872noreply@blogger.com
